What’s Happening at Where Faeries Live for January through March:

January 27, 2012: Witch Crafts. In order to give everyone who attends the class a chance to cast circle, we are now casting circle every class. After we cast the circle we will be making cone incense. In February the Witch Craft classes will focus on energy and energy work.

February 1, 2012: Imbolc Ritual in the Fireside Room. No experience necessary… the goal is to participate in the ritual. Thankfully all Acts of Love and Pleasure are the Goddess’s ritual and we need not worry about being perfect, rather that we are enjoying each other’s company and have a lovely time while learning to perfect our skill.

Witch Craft classes on the second and fourth Friday evenings in March (6:30pm to 8pm) will revolve around your tools. Bring you working tools for consecration and for working with. We will be making a wand and perhaps some other tools depending on time and interest.

Because we did not have sufficient enrollment for a February Tarot Class we have pushed it back to March. On the last three Wednesday evenings of March (14th, 21st and 28th) we will be doing a Tarot Class. For all 3 classes the cost is $60.00 ($20/session) from 7pm till 9:30pm. We are using the Rider Waite deck or similar decks. Part of each class will be used to do reading for yourself and classmates. The minimum is 6 people and the maxium is 12 people for the class. Cutoff for registration and payment is March 7th.

Coming up on March 3 is the March Madness Dinner/Dance. This is the first time for this event and I hope that Pagan community will come out and support this fundraiser for the Sun Wheel Festival. Dinner is going to be a baked spaghetti supper with a meat sauce. There will be vegetarian options as well as celiac-friendly options Dinner will include a salad, bun, glass of red or white wine with dinner and dessert. I am hoping that we have a great crowd to come and dance the February doldrums away! The hall will only hold 200 for a dance so come get your ticket now before we sell out! The March Madness Dinner and Dance will occur at the Glengarry Community Hall 13325 – 89 Street. Doors will open at 5:30 and cocktails will begin at 6 pm. Dinner is at 7 PM; the Dance starts about 8:30pm; Midnight lunch is at 11pm; and Last Call is at 1 AM.

Sun Wheel Festival is coming up June 29 to July 2, 2012. According to the Federal Government Monday July 2 will be the statutory holiday. Unfortunately last year we were unable to secure any Pagan singers or bands. This year we have a least one Pagan Band (Raven’s Call) and are finishing details on a contract with a Pagan Singer/Song Writer from the Seattle area. Working though the process we had an opportunity to refine our focus a bit, while remaining a Pagan Festival for Western Canada with Pagan workshops, we acknowledge that Pagans tend to be intensely creative people and have a wide range of skills and recognizing this we are focusing a little more on the arts side. I hope that this Festival will feed the creative Pagan soul. This year besides the Pagan Singer (to be announced once we have finalized the details) and Raven’s Call, there will be a workshop on sacred dance/movement. I would love to find someone who could do an art workshop or perhaps a mask making workshop. If you know anyone of that persuasion please let me know or encourage this person to volunteer.
